Jennifer Garner sends message as ex Ben Affleck mourns mother’s death

Jennifer Garner sent a poignant message as she was spotted on a solo outing in Brentwood over the weekend on Sunday. 

The 54-year-old actress, who recently revealed that she was asked to stop going to her child’s soccer practice, stopped by a crowded farmer’s market to pick up a few items. 

It comes nearly two months after her ex Ben Affleck’s mother Chris Anne pᴀssed away on June 2 at the age of 83 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Garner and the actor’s mom had a close bond which also lasted after the pair’s divorce. 

Garner kept it casual for the daytime excursion wearing a white shirt that had ‘Maman Je T’aime’ printed on the front which translates to ‘I love you, mom.’

She additionally slipped into a pair of white and blue-striped pants as well as comfy white sandals. 

Her brunette locks were pulled back away from her face into a simple ponytail and she also sported a pair of stylish shades.

Garner was seen strolling through the outdoor market and carried a large tote bag over her shoulder. 

She was later spotted making her way towards a sidewalk before heading to her next destination.

Daily Mail has reached out to reps for Garner for comment, but has yet to hear back. 

It comes not long after Affleck’s mother pᴀssed away following a battle with pancreatic cancer on June 2. 

Chris Anne is survived by the Oscar winner as well as her other son Casey and five grandchildren. 

Garner and Affleck were married from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018. The former couple are parents to Violet, 20, Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14. 

The 13 Going On 30 actress and Affleck’s mom appeared to have developed a close bond which continued despite her son’s divorce. 

Chris Anne notably stayed with Garner and her kids back in 2018 when the actor was getting treatment at a rehab facility.

And late last year, she also celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday with Affleck and Garner at the actress’s home. 

Chris Anne was seen on various outings over the years with Affleck and Garner as well as her grandkids. 

‘You know, I just marvel at my mother who did a great job of raising my brother and I. Parenting is hard work but it’s so rewarding and I certainly do my best,’ Affleck told E! News back in 2016. 

‘Jen is a superhero mom,’ he continued of his now ex-wife at the time. ‘She is an amazing mother and I’m really lucky to have her as a partner to co-parent these kids with. We try our best, we put them first and that’s what we do.’

She had been informed by doctors she had six months to live last year in December, and her last wish was to see her grandson’s high school graduation, according to the obit. 

Chris Anne attended the ceremony which was held on May 31, and pᴀssed away while sleeping just two days later. 

She was grandmother to Indiana, 22, Violet, 20, Atticus, 18, Fin, 17, and Sam, 14, who had been the ‘the animating force of her last two decades.’

The actress was joined by Judy Greer and Emily Bader during production in Santa Monica, California. 

Other stars that have joined the forthcoming project include Adeline Rudolph, Logan Lerman, Jessica Alba, Taylor Ortega, Tim Meadows and Dan Bucatinsky. 

Garner is an executive producer on the Netflix reimagining, with Brett Haley directing the film. 

Haley is known for working on other projects such as I’ll See You In My Dreams (2015) and People We Meet On Vacation (2026).
